Snow Surveys email

image013During the winter, outdoor education keeps on going! Several teachers request a visit into their classroom to learn about snow surveys and water forecasting.  After the classroom visit, we take a trip up to Wolf Creek Pass and measure the snow pack using the Natural Resources Conservation Service’s equipment. During this lesson students learn about the importance of snow in the water cycle and use calculators to determine the water content of the snow.
